Meet Santa at the Virginia Theatre

Santa Claus will soon arrive in Champaign to spread holiday cheer. The Champaign Center Partnership and Champaign Park District eagerly await his return to the festively decorated Virginia Theatre lobby. Families are invited to meet jolly old St. Nick, pose for photos, and tell him their gift wishes. Santa will have a candy cane for every child who comes to see him.

See the breathtaking Mabery Gelvin Botanical Garden at Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve, decked out in holiday finery and aglow with light, all free for your enjoyment!
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

The critically acclaimed live stage show Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical is returning this fall to theaters across North America, bringing holiday cheer to families. Based on the beloved TV classic, the national tour stars Rudolph and his friends, including Hermey the Elf, Yukon Cornelius, and Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster. After seven years and over 600 performances, the musical continues its successful run. With Santa’s Christmas in jeopardy, Rudolph and the jolly cast will have to work together to save the holiday season and spread Christmas spirit.

If you need to do last-minute holiday shopping, prepare for house guests, or take a quick break, bring your kids to Mrs. Claus’ Workshop on Saturday, December 23rd at The CU Flower House. Upon arrival, each child will receive chocolate chip cookies and milk, storytelling from Mrs. Claus, a sneak peek at the naughty and nice list, holiday crafts, and reindeer food to prepare for Christmas day.
