If you have yet to get your fall decorations in full gear, then now is the time to visit the local pumpkin patches and farms in the Champaign area. They offer a lot more than just fresh pumpkins and apples. You’ll experience all the trappings of the fall season at our local farms. Check out our list below and have a wonderful time with your family!
Curtis Orchard & Pumpkin Patch
3902 S Duncan Rd, Champaign, IL
Escape to the country at Curtis Orchard, a historic family-run farm in southwest Champaign. Here, you can find a variety of apples and pumpkins, as well as enjoy outdoor activities and explore their large country store. Don’t miss the chance to shop for specialty food items and take home some fresh apple cider. And of course, be sure to indulge in their famous donuts and pies. If you’re looking for a meal, their Flying Monkey Cafe will be opening on August 26th.
Free admission and parking. Enjoy free activities, including a playground and petting zoo. For a small fee, you can also experience ticketed attractions, such as the corn maze, rope maze, putt-putt golf, and pony rides.
Pick-your-own apples and pumpkins are also available. The cost for U-Pick is $8 per person, and children under 36″ can pick for free when accompanied by a parent. When you pay for apple picking, you will receive a 1/4 peck bag. If you prefer not to pick apples, you can purchase them in our farm store.
U-pick pumpkins are available from mid-September through early November. The fields are vast, spanning acres of land. In addition to picking your own pumpkins, pre-picked options are also available. To make the most of your visit, bring a wagon to transport your children and pumpkins, and capture some adorable photos along the way.
1356 County Rd. 2900 N., Rantoul, IL
Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch offers a variety of fall attractions, including paintball, racing carts, hayrides, and a highly intricate corn maze. While entrance is free, there are fees for most attractions, with the corn maze costing $8 during daylight hours and $9 after 5 p.m. It’s important to note that the maze can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours to complete, according to the website. The hours and attractions at the ranch vary depending on the month, but it typically opens for the season on Labor Day. Keep in mind that the corn maze usually closes in mid-November, although the ranch remains open throughout December.
1883 County Road 700 N, Sidney, IL
Located just outside of town, the no-frills pumpkin patch offers an affordable option for fall decor. With no admission charge, it’s a budget-friendly choice. While there’s no organized entertainment, the patch opens in late September and remains open until Halloween. Cash or check is required for payment, as credit cards are not accepted.
Crowley Pumpkins

Crowley Pumpkins in Mahomet is a family-owned pumpkin patch that offers friendly service and quality pumpkins at affordable prices. It is a great option for those looking for a simpler way to purchase pumpkins.

Located just south of Arthur, IL, The Great Pumpkin Patch is a family farm that offers an impressive selection of pumpkins, squash, and gourds. With over 300 varieties from more than 20 countries, visitors can truly experience the diversity of these harvest season staples. The farm takes pride in creating a beautiful environment for guests to connect with the land and each other. Premier displays, including over 5,000 hardy mums, as well as various mazes and gardens, adorn the grounds. In addition to plants, The Great Pumpkin Patch also showcases a range of animals, such as goats, pigs, exotic chickens, rabbits, and llamas. With multiple dining options and a plethora of activities, there is no shortage of things to do and see at this inviting destination.
