I Spy Summer at the Mahomet Library

Mahomet is kicking off summer with a party at the Library including:

  • “I Spy” walk from Lake of the Woods to the Library
  • Inflatables
  • Carnival Games
  • Balloon animals, face painting, and temporary tattoos
  • Music
  • Free hot dogs and chips (starting at 11am until they run out of food)
  • Ice Daddy shaved ice
  • Summer reading sign up table

You won’t want to miss out on our “I Spy” walk from Lake of the Woods to the Library. All ages are welcome!

New Fire Engine Push In Celebration

Come Help the Champaign Fire Department Join in the Celebration of the Time-Honored Tradition of Pushing the New Fire Engine Back into the Fire Station.

May 27th at 11am at Fire Station #4 (2315 W. John)! Lots for the kid to do!

Drone Racing

Riggs Beer Company
1901 S High Cross Rd, Urbana, IL 61802

Local drone pilots will race their drones in the field behind Riggs Beer Company. Drone racing is a sport where participants control “drones” (typically small radio-controlled aircraft or quadcopters), equipped with cameras while wearing head-mounted displays showing the live stream camera feed from the drones. Similar to full size air racing, the goal is to complete a set course as quickly as possible.

Races start at around noon and will end at around 4 pm. This event is open to the public. There is no fee to see the drones fly.

Amazing Stargazing

William M. Staerkel Planetarium at Parkland College

Learn all the sky watching basics with the fun radio DJs from “Radio Aahs.” Meet Aahsie and the gang as they happily explain the causes for day & night, moon phases, and the difference between comets and meteors. A great introduction to the night sky!
