What could be more fun at this time of year than picking the ultimate pumpkin and getting some fresh Autumn air at one of the pumpkin patches around Champaign - Urbana? These are more than just pumpkin patches. You'll enjoy country shopping, fresh fall fruit, and all sorts of fun on the farm. Here's a few to make sure to visit this fall.

Curtis Orchard & Pumpkin Patch

Open 9am - 6pm Mon - Sat, and Sun 11-6. This historic orchard offers apples, pumpkins, outdoor activities and a large country store where you'll find specialty food items, fresh apple cider, and their famous donuts and pies. Also visit the  Flying Monkey Cafe open until late December. The kids can have fun at the petting zoo and playground, along with a giant slide, obstacle course, rope maze, corn maze, putt-putt golf, and pony rides.

Negangard Pumpkin Patch

If you want an affordable pumpkin, this is the place! This area has been farmed by the Negangard family for more than 50 years. The pumpkins are conveniently arranged by price with clearly labeled signs. There's jus about any pumpkin you could want; gourds; straw bales; cornstalks; squash; and more. These prices are so low, you can take a haul for less than 15! Just make sure to bring cash or check.

Hardy's Reindeer Ranch

Open 9 am to 6 pm in fall. May thru August 8 am to 8 pm. Hardy's Reindeer Ranch is a unique and fun tour destination in Central Illinois. Their Corn Mazes cover a full 10 acres and are designed like a large treasure hunt. They also have the Jack Splat Pumpkin Cannon, a Paint Ball Gallery, Pedal Race Rars, Hay Rides, Reindeer Tours, Cook Outs by reservation and food / drink concessions on weekends. You can also see real Alaskan Reindeer!
