The UP Center presents:

The Sixth Annual CU Pride Festival

September 19th-20th

One word describes the CU Pride Fest and that's VARIETY! This Saturday, people and families will attend this large festival and kids area.  There will be groups selling pride swag while others spread awareness about the issues gender and sexual minorities face.  Champaign-Urbana Public Health and local government will also be sharing information. There will be children's entertainment; bounce houses and carnival style games. There will also be education  workshops at the Hyatt Place and Big Grove Tavern from 12 noon to 3 PM, which will include subjects like Family Law, Biblical Self Defense, Sexual Assault and Awareness, Nutrition and Health and Substance Abuse.  But, the parade is the real treat, which will be Downtown Champaign around 5 PM.  After the parade, there will be activities and entertainment at local bars and restaurants.  Sunday will be the Drag Brunch at V.Picasso  featuring Leiloni Start, Calexus Carrington and Jade from Rupaul's Drag Race Season One.

All proceeds will support the UP Center of Champaign County, whose mission is to be a multi-service agency for youth and adults; to support and promote human care, education, and community-building activities directed at furthering the well-being and development of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, two spirit, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, pansexual, non-gendered, gender-nonconforming, and gender-fluid people and the ally community of Champaign County.
